Halloween ComicFest Returns as a Month-Long Event

Hey, boo! Spooky season is upon us and we want to celebrate a little bit differently this year. Allow us to reintroduce ourselves!

We’re Halloween ComicFest, the beloved industry event highlighting comic shops as premiere destinations for spooky fun, and we’re returning as an in-store celebration for the first time since 2019!

The event originated as a one-day giveaway event – think of us as the fall companion to Free Comic Book Day – but we believe the horror genre deserves more than one day to shine, so we’ve expanded Halloween ComicFest (HCF) to be a month-long celebration, running from October 1 through October 31. But we’re making some changes to keep the festivities running all month long…

We’re removing the element of giveaway comics and instead highlighting all of the best horror comics, graphic novels, and collectibles that your local comic shop has to offer. Your local comic shop is fully stocked with best spooks around and we want to help you find all the tricks and treats you need to have your best Halloween season yet!

“But how?” you ask. All month long, we’ll be updating our website with articles highlighting all the terrifyingly good horror products you can get at your local comic shop. And we’ll be specific, don’t worry. We’ve got recommendations for horror manga, monster stories, vampire and zombie tales, merch from your favorite slasher films, and more! We’ll find the goodies, all you have to do is take your shopping list to your comic shop.

Or, if nothing on our lists strike your fancy, you can head straight your local comic shop and they’ll help you find some spooks in real time. No one has better recommendations than the staff at your local comic shop. Just ask for their spooky staff picks and they’ll hook you up with something scary good.

We’re looking forward to another spooktacular Halloween season together and can’t wait to celebrate the spine-tingling, spooky fun to be had at your local comic shop!
